The Croods is an animated adventure from Dreamworks Animation Studios, following a prehistoric family of cave people as they venture into an unfamiliar world when an earthquake destroys their home.

The screenplay was developed by an original story written by John Cleese, and while it’s basically a reworking of familiar things that have been done before, the animation and voice talent are of a decent standard, making this an entertaining, family-friendly movie.

A TV series followed, as well as sequel several years later.
