Aardman studios use their trademark stop-motion animation style for this amusing prehistoric adventure about a clan of Stone Age cavemen who are forced off their land by Bronze Age soldiers and arrange a football match so they can win it back.

The film ticks over nicely at a mere 87 minutes and there's some good jokes spread out over the running time.

The film only made a modest return from its cinema run, and was virtually ignored on US soil, possibly due to football not being as popular a sport there as it is in the UK & Europe.
