RRR is a Bollywood-influenced action adventure from India set in the time of British colonial rule.
The fictional story centres around two friends who become revolutionaries when a child is kidnapped from her village and is illegitimately adopted by a governor’s wife.
The action scenes are quite brilliantly choreographed, with stunts and visual effects that put some of the work in multi-million dollar Hollywood blockbusters to shame,
especially when this cost a fraction of the price (approx $60m).
The musical numbers scattered in parts are an interesting addition, working surprisingly well in the context of the film and don’t feel out of place for a moment.
One minor gripe would be the length of the movie at a balking 182 minutes, when it could very possibly have told as entertaining a tale in a third of that time, but I also can’t
deny that it was a fun journey to be on.
