Iconic car chase movie which was a huge hit at the time of
release, spawning a couple of sequels which were less successful.
It's a car chase movie, so you pretty much know what
you're in for. Burt Reynolds plays a bootlegger who drives across the US with Sally Field, while her manic police officer fiancé gives chase.
Smokey & The Bandit is a genuine guilty pleasure movie
which is still held in high regard by many, but to call it a classic would be a huge overstatement.
Sequels followed, but failed to capture the fun factor of
the original movie.
