A black teacher comes to a tough school in East End
London, where he wins over the hearts of the students.
Incredibly dated sentimental drama, mostly memorable for
its title song performed by Lulu, as well as providing inspiration to the TV sitcom "Please, Sir".
The plot has also been recycled in various forms for
several TV shows, films and stage plays in years since, probably working best in 1988's Stand & Deliver (qv).
