Classic Mel Brooks spoof, featuring Gene Wilder as
Frederick Frankenstein, an eccentric brain surgeon who has spent his entire life and career distancing himself from his grandfather's legacy, but ultimately finds himself travelling to
Transylvania to perfect the work of his ancestor, with hilariously monstrous consequences.
Gene Wilder is absolutely perfect in the lead, but the
supporting performances still manage to steal the film, most notably Peter Boyle as the comedy monster. Arguably, this is Mel Brooks' finest creation.
